micro-dosing

micro-dosing

the dose that doesn't trip you

micro-dosing means taking roughly 1/10th of a standard dose of a psychedelic substance — usually LSD or psilocybin mushrooms. at this level, you won't see colors, experience ego death, or question the nature of reality. you'll just feel... slightly better at everything.

people who micro-dose consistently report increased creativity, better pattern recognition, elevated mood, enhanced sensory perception, and greater emotional openness. silicon valley has been doing this quietly for years.

what the research says

legitimate research institutions — johns hopkins, imperial college london, NYU — have been studying psychedelics intensively. while most studies focus on full doses for treating depression and PTSD, micro-dosing research is growing.

the current evidence is a mix of promising clinical data and strong anecdotal reports. many participants describe a subtle but noticeable improvement in problem-solving ability, emotional regulation, and overall well-being.

is some of it placebo? possibly. but as we covered in another post, placebo effects are real effects. if your brain works better because you believe it will, the outcome is the same.

how people typically approach it

the most common protocol is one day on, two days off. take a micro-dose on day one, observe the effects on day two (many people report the strongest benefits the day after), rest on day three, and repeat.

the dose should be sub-perceptual — if you feel "high," you took too much. the point is enhancement, not alteration.

the honest disclaimer

psychedelics are still illegal in many places. they interact unpredictably with certain medications, especially SSRIs. people with a personal or family history of psychotic disorders should avoid them entirely.

this isn't a recommendation. it's information. if you're in a place where this is legal and you're curious, do your research, start incredibly small, and pay attention to what changes.

your brain is a chemistry set. it's worth understanding what adjustments are possible.

if this resonated, share it with someone who needs to hear it.
